The sold out and much anticipated day, started with an impressive crowd filling the hall. It quickly became clear that both visitors and sellers were there to make great deals and exchanges. A special appreciation went to the sellers at the Tradera stand who were not only selling, but also actively buying and exchanging cards, creating a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere at our stand and a way to further reach out to the community.
Meeting with Disney legend Flemming Andersen
One of the most appreciated features of the day was the presence of Danish Disney cartoonist Flemming Andersen. Known for his vibrant interpretations of Donald Duck and his friends, Andersen shared his art and signed works for fans. His presence on site both Friday and Saturday added an extra dimension to the event, and his drawings attracted many admirers.
Triss in Charizard – an unlikely event
At noon, it was time for the most anticipated moment of the event – a live opening of the Pokémon Base Set, the very first Pokémon set released in 1999. This unopened box, preserved in its original packaging for over two decades, was opened before an enthusiastic crowd. And the excitement was total.

First Pack Magic
When the first pack was opened and the audience was shown the legendary Holographic Charizard card, the reaction was immediate – cheers, laughter and an electric atmosphere filled the room. The creator inspected the card and found it to be in perfect condition. And this was just the beginning! As more packs were opened, even more magnificent cards arrived, including a Venusaur, which also drew huge cheers.
But the most incredible thing happened when three Charizard cards were pulled from the same box – something that has only allegedly happened once before, in the United States. This epic moment will become part of Pokémon history and quickly spread across the world within the community.
Tradera competition and charity
As part of the event, Tradera held competitions throughout the weekend, and on the last day another lucky winner went home with 1000 DKK to shop for on Tradera. A great opportunity for one winner to continue their collecting journey.
Another highlight was the auction of Flemming Andersen’s beautiful drawing, which generated a lot of interest. The winner of the auction, an on-site visitor, not only took home the stunning artwork, but also a personalized picture with the artist himself. All proceeds from the auction were donated to the Save the Children charity, adding an extra dimension of meaning to the event.
Interviews and organizers’ reflections
During the day, we also had the opportunity to talk to the organizers of the Nordic Card Show, who shared their thoughts and feelings about the event. They talked about the passion and hard work that went into creating an unforgettable experience for exhibitors, visitors and creators alike. The organizers also gave positive feedback on Tradera’s involvement and sponsorship, and how their involvement helped to make the event even more memorable.
A great ending – see you next year!
Many thanks to everyone who made Nordic Card Show 2025 a success! Tradera is already looking forward to the next time we have the opportunity to collaborate and experience even more magical trading card moments.
