Our sustainability strategy

We believe that sustainability is one of the most important issues facing us today. We are committed to doing our part to create a better future for our customers, our employees and our planet as a whole.

We have created a comprehensive sustainability strategy that permeates everything we do as an organization. Our focus is on reducing our environmental impact, strengthening our social impact and increasing our corporate responsibility. We are convinced that sustainability is a fundamental part of our business and we are committed to continuously improving our work in this area.

On this page, we have gathered information about our initiatives, our goals, and how we work to achieve them. It is important for us to be transparent and inspire more people to join us on our journey towards a better future.

Sustainable in every way

We have a business model that aims to have a positive impact on society and the environment. We are continuously developing new solutions to increase circularity and to reach our goal of being sustainable in every way by 2025. In addition, we are taking action on all aspects of sustainability: environmental, social and economic (hereafter referred to as planet, people and profitability). To make our commitments tangible and achievable, we have developed a comprehensive roadmap to 2025 that will guide us in everything we do in the coming years.

Sustainability is in our DNA. We work hard to further reduce our emissions by regularly evaluating and optimizing our use of energy, sourcing of materials, waste management, transport modes and shipping options.

We also care about social and economic sustainability and put the well-being of our employees high on the agenda. We are committed to a discrimination-free workplace and to enabling financial inclusion. To become sustainable in every way, we will look beyond our own direct operations with the aim of promoting circularity and changing customer behaviors. This is where we believe we can drive real change and influence how we as a society consume.

Three areas of sustainability

Planets

Linear production, over-consumption and waste generation are serious challenges that are increasingly affecting our environment and climate.
As a business, we can make a positive contribution by driving the transition to sustainable shopping.

Employees

Our team is at the heart of everything we do.
We strive to always be creative, curious and learn new things.
We believe that diverse teams create the best solutions and ideas.

Profitability

We believe that profitability should not come at the expense of our planet and we believe that every second-hand item sold through our platform reduces the demand for new products.
